100% Covered by British Columbia MSP

Virtual Doctor Appointments Covered by BC MSP

Access experienced, licensed British Columbia physicians from the comfort of your home. If you have an active BC Services Card or Personal Health Number (PHN), your virtual telehealth consultation is fully covered under the Medical Services Plan (MSP)—with $0 out-of-pocket cost.

Who Is Eligible for MSP-Covered Virtual Care?

To qualify for fully covered virtual visits with 121Clinicians, you must meet the following criteria at the time of your appointment:

  • Active BC MSP Coverage: You must have a valid British Columbia Personal Health Number (PHN) or an active BC Services Card.
  • Physical Location: Under provincial healthcare regulations, you must be physically located within British Columbia during your virtual consultation.
  • Valid Identification: You must be prepared to verify your identity and present your PHN when completing your check-in.

If you do not have active BC MSP coverage—such as visitors, out-of-province residents, or international students awaiting coverage—please use our Private (Self-Pay) Booking option.

What Can Be Treated Under BC MSP?

Our licensed physicians handle a comprehensive range of non-emergency medical concerns virtually, offering the same standard of medical care as an in-person clinic:

  • Prescription Renewals: Timely continuity of care for routine and maintenance medications. Prescriptions are electronically sent straight to your chosen BC pharmacy for pickup or delivery.
  • Lab & Diagnostic Requisitions: Secure digital requisitions for blood tests, urine analysis, ultrasounds, and X-rays accepted at LifeLabs and hospital outpatient imaging departments throughout BC.
  • Acute & Everyday Health: Assessments for colds, flu symptoms, seasonal allergies, mild asthma, urinary tract infections (UTIs), stomach upsets, rashes, and minor skin infections.
  • Specialist Referrals: When specialized diagnosis or advanced care is required, our physicians assess your condition and provide medical referrals to BC-based medical specialists.
  • Sexual & Mental Health: Confidential consultations for birth control, STI testing, anxiety, mild-to-moderate depression, sleep disturbances, and overall wellness support.
  • Doctor’s Notes & Medical Forms: Clinical evaluations for work, school, and academic absence documentation. (Note: While your clinical assessment is covered by MSP, third-party completion of certain employment or insurance forms is an uninsured service per CPSBC rules).

Prescribing Safety Standard: In alignment with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) telemedicine guidelines, our virtual doctors do not prescribe narcotics, controlled substances, sleeping aids, or medical cannabis.
